Forwarding United Student Empowerment
Forwarding United Student Empowerment (FUSE) is a progressive
political party at the University of Wisconsin-Madison built of
undergraduate, graduate, professional, and special students. We believe
that all students, no matter what amount of the population they make up,
should have a voice in the decisions made by our student
government. We are building a diverse political organization
through campus grass-roots organizing, education, coalition building and
elections.
Issues & Campaigns
- Lower Tuition and get More Funding for Education
We will actively lobby the University and the State on your
behalf to stop the constant rise of tuition and decline of state
funding for classes and benefits for students and TAs. Check out the
referendum we helped pass.
- Responsible Segregated Fee Allocation
Segregated fees are funds collected from students to support
essential student services, out-of-classroom learning opportunities,
and campus free speech. We pledge to defend your right to an honest,
responsible system of supporting student services.
- Responsive and Accountable Representation
We do not intend to waste your time playing politics. You have a
right under state law to be a part of all decisions on campus, and
will always listen to the voices of the students.
- Safe and Welcoming Campus
Students often walk around unaware of the hate crimes, racial
profiling, and sexual assaults that take place on this campus
because the crimes are not publicized. Hate crimes, racial profiling
and sexual assaults on campus affect us all. We will defend the
right to live free from fear and will strengthen the processes for
combating these crimes.
- Link student issues to local, state and national issues.
It is in our tradition to work with local officials and ensure that
the community is also our priority.
- Come with an open mind and begin Forwarding United Student
Empowerment!
